Journées du Patrimoine 2009
Next weekend, the 19th and 20th of September, is the annual Journées du Patrimoine. You can visit some of the finest monuments in Paris, which are normally closed to the public, for free. Each arrondissement has monuments worth visiting and you can see the entire list here. In the past, I’ve visited the Sorbonne and the Chateau de la Muette and would recommend both. At some point, I hope to sell all of these:
- Comédie Française
- Le Palais Royal
- Hôtel de Ville de Paris
- Maison de Victor Hugo
- Panthéon
- Palais du Luxembourg
- Assemblée Nationale
- Ecole militaire de Paris
- Palais de l'Elysée
- Arc de Triomphe
- Cinémathèque Française
- France Télévisions
I know I won’t see them all this year but over the coming years, why not. There are long queues for some places such as the Palais de l'Elysée and the Palais du Luxembourg (le Senat) so I’ll probably skip them and head for the Cinémathèque Française or the Comédie Française.
