Driving 5,000 kilometres through Albania, Italy, France, Germany, Denmark and Belgium might seem like a fun way to spend a month in Europe but it was too much! I’m so exhausted from travelling. First world problems, I know, but I really need to slow down a bit.

I’m currently finishing up a two week stint in Brussels, a city I’ve heard described as boring, and yes, it was probably me who said that but staying in the cool Ixelles neighbourhood has changed my view and I’m sad to be leaving this week. Getting away from the hectic and touristy Grand Place has made all the difference as did the serious chocolate tastings I indulged in for an upcoming blog post.

I only shared a few photos from my five days in Copenhagen as I was there for a conference more than tourism but as I said in that post, the city has a great vibe and I’m on the lookout for somewhere similar to use as my European base, just without the hefty price tag. Which brings me to June.

Later this week I’ll be in London to update my East London foodie guide. Then I’ll be making my way to Central Europe to look for somewhere to set up a home. Berlin, Prague, Budapest are possibilities or maybe even somewhere in Slovenia. I haven’t decided just yet, so long as it’s somewhere fun, affordable and where I won’t need a gazillion documents to rent an apartment (which probably rules out Berlin). I hope it won’t be too difficult to rent somewhere without a local job.

Oops, I almost forgot, I’m going to Sweden! So much for slowing down. It’ll be my first time and I can’t wait to check out Stockholm. Any tips are welcome as always.
