On the first day of les Journées du Patrimoine, I headed to the Palais du Luxembourg, the building which houses le Sénat. I had thought the queue was going to be huge but in the end it was only a 10 minutes wait to get inside.

The building, as to be expected, was beautiful and the interior reminded me of the Opera Garnier. The most interesting rooms are the library, where you can find over 360,000 books, the Grand Salon, and a smaller room where you can see the throne of Napoleon the 1st. You also get some great views of the Jardin du Luxembourg.
