Over the last year or two I’ve moved towards writing travel guides and detailed itineraries for this site. I’ve mostly done that because I enjoy writing something people find useful rather than inspirational. But also because I’ve spent so much time travelling it seems like a waste to not share some of the extensive research I do or the little details which are often passed over in brief posts.

It’s fine to write the ‘best places to visit in 2019’ type posts (sorry for sneaking that link in there) but I much prefer writing about some quirky neighbourhood spots I stumbled across or where to find perfectly brewed coffee on your travels. It’s not for everyone I suppose but that’s what I like to do.

But sometimes I want to share things I come across which don’t need a long post or fit into a guide. Maybe some travel anecdote or a small tip I want to share or even an app I’m using. It would be nice to publish a quick post with just one photo that doesn’t take hours (or days) to write and edit. And I’m sure it’s nice for you to have a quick two minute read while you're browsing at work or during your commute.

As a side note, where are you when you’re reading my blog? At home, at work? On your computer or your phone?

Today, for my first ever Two Minute Tuesday, I want to share a few new Instagram accounts I’ve come across since being back in Australia. There are so many fantastic photographers here and one of the current trends is shooting sharks and whales using a drone. I don’t even know how they find them to shoot. Do they scan the ocean until they come across 20 hammerhead sharks close to shore or a couple of whales and their calves? I’m fascinated by it and it’s tempting me to get my drone out of storage and get flying.
