Villages
This week’s #FriFotos theme is Villages. I haven’t visited many villages in my time but I’ve picked out a few favourites from my travels in Europe. Follow #FriFotos on Twitter to share your village photos.
Bakar – Croatia
Bakar is a peaceful fishing village in northern Croatia, not far from Rijeka.

Giverny – France
The home of Impressionist painter Claude Monet, Giverny is a great day trip from Paris.

Hallstatt – Austria
I wrote about Hallstatt yesterday; it’s a beautiful alpine village.

Bohinj – Slovenia
Bohinj is a large village located next to a stunning glacial lake in Slovenia.

Ston – Croatia
The main sight in the southern Croatian village of Ston is the 5.5 kilometre wall which surrounds the city known as the ‘European wall of China’.
